synopsis for the southern california coast and santa barbara channel including the channel islands national marine sanctuary and national park...at 03z, or 8 pm pdt, a 1033 mb surface high was centered 400 nm west of seattle and extending to a 1029 mb ridge in western Montana. A 1012 mb surface low was located over the coastal waters from san francisco to baja mexico. Winds and seas will gradually diminish across the northern and outer coastal waters late tonight.
